Going digital — Louise’s 25-year journey

After 25 years experience working with stones and precious metals, Louise has built an unrivalled reputation within the prestigious world of jewellery. Rich in experience and knowledge, it only seemed a natural transition for Louise to make her first foray into the world of e-commerce, debuting a ready-to-wear collection that is quintessentially Louise.

Her own gemstone-related story began when she first trained under Benjamin Warwick, a precious gem dealer in London where she learnt about the complex industry of sourcing and trading. She then went to work with Theo Fennell; one of the major players in the global jewellery scene. It was here that she secured her role as Commission Manager, responsible for stone buying, managing the workshop and assisting with design on commissions alongside Theo. After graduating from the FGA and becoming a member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, Louise launched her own business from an intimate boutique in Chelsea in 1994.

The brand blossomed in its store on Walton Street, with both bespoke and ready-to-wear pieces acquiring legions of admirers. Her long list of clients continue to choose Louise for her dedication to providing exceptional quality without the Bond Street price tag.

What makes Louise’s brand so unique is her passion for gemmology, which is reflected in the diverse range of stones she uses — lapiz lazuli, pink kunzite and tsavorite. Her unrivalled reputation amongst stone suppliers affords her the pick of the best, which she does with great care.

Alongside her bespoke commissions, Louise’s ready-to-wear collections tell their own story and are inspired by her travels and experiences. For example, the shamrock collection was inspired by an exquisite family brooch that belonged to her grandmother. Louise designs her collections with timeless elegance and wearability in mind, resulting in intriguing pieces of artistry that are a pleasure to wear.

Fifteen years after closing the boutique to focus on the bespoke side of her business, the journey now continues online. The new website showcases the bespoke jewels created by Louise as well as exploring Louise’s world and the inspirations she draws from it.

Louise has also launched a new capsule collection of timeless items that can be worn whenever, wherever, however. The earrings, pendants and rings also make perfect gifts for everything from an 18th birthday, to a Christmas gift from a boyfriend and are based on the notion that every woman needs three or four pieces that can really be lived in.

It’s the diversity of colour and design fused with elegant simplicity that makes Louise’s work so appealing. To own a piece by Louise Sinclair, is to own a piece by the woman herself because her heart and soul goes into creating every spellbinding design.
